Rules for Success

August 8, 2017 by jmercyj Leave a Comment

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". How many of us truly believe this verse and not just believe, but live like it. Or we may say we believe it, but when situations occur in our life we accept them as our "lot" in life. This is just the way it is. This is just how I am. Sometimes and I know I'm guilty of this we rest in our emotions and how we feel and what we like and what we don't like and when we do this we stop searching for the perfect plan God has for our life.

This scripture in Jeremiah goes on to say in verse 12:12-13 "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart".

If we accept where we are in life is all we expect whether we think things are going well or we're experiencing trials we should always be seeking what God has for us. His perfect plan for our lives.

I came across this video on Youtube. I find it fascinating that TD Jakes has reached across "church" lines. But it makes total sense, our spiritual life should be our total life. What we do at home, at work, in the grocery store, our business endearvors, how we spend our money should all be to the glory of God in our lives.

I have to ask myself, am I living the abundant life God has promised me? Am I living like the freed person that I am or have I limited God's activity in my life by just accepting what is. I know the answer, but I'm working on opening up my mind to all that God has planned for me.

This video outlines 10 rules for success all based on the Word of God. The speaker asks you to write down what resonates with you, I wrote down that "God is going to bless you by how you see yourself". I'm working on seeing myself as God sees me.

Watch the video, let me know what resonates with you.
